Libyan tales is the denomination given to the tales collected from Libya.
History[]
19th Century[]
German linguist Hans Stumme (1864-1936) published several tales he collected from north African countries as a result of his stdies of semitic languages. Among them we find Tales and Poems from the City of Tripoli in North Africa, a collection of folktales from Tripoli, Libya's current capital, published in 1898.
